Linux Professional Institute Linux Essentials CERTIFIED!!!
During the Level Up In Tech (LUIT) AWS DevOps Boot Camp, we spent the first 3 weeks working on our Linux skills, CentOS 7 to be specific. WHY? Because 90% of Public Cloud workloads run on Linux!!! As a DevOps Engineer, one aspect of my role will be to create scripts that will automate the deployment environment.
It had been about 15 yrs since I worked in Linux. As a Presales Solution Engineer, I would create demonstrations and intellectual capital for Enterprise and Government customers about IBM WebSphere Application Server, IBM Portal Server and Enterprise Service Buses. This was my first exposure to Linux on distributed operating systems. In another role, I was the Subject Matter Expert for Portal Server on Linux on IBM System Z at the Washington Systems Center in Gaithersburg, MD. During this role, I gained exposure of Linux on IBM System Z.
Well once I got my hands on the keys, I thought everything would come back….NOT!!! LOL! I realized that my past experience was just enough to install the product du jour. TIP: Learn to retain not just for the task at hand! Please do not worry if you have no experience at all with tech nor Linux….YOU CAN GET THIS CERTIFICATION….if you put in the study! Check out me speaking about my experience.
