MY BOUNCE BACK is STRONG!

WHEWWWWWW what a week it has been! Yes I know it was a four-day work week here in the US due to the Labor Day holiday on Monday. This was one of those weeks that will test your bounce back! Merriam-Webster defines bounce back as to return quickly to a normal condition after a difficult situation or event.

This week I was getting my mind…arms…body…O everything I had into something I was working on. I couldn’t put my finger on it but it was just not working out. As my CEO said, every week is not going to be rainbows and unicorns….OK that is how I processed what he said lol! YES, I had a major setback. When time is not your friend and you have deadlines to meet….OK I know we have all been there, are there or coming out of there!

How we handle opposition, hardships and yessss setbacks speaks a lot about our character. Let’s think about the last time we experienced any one of these or maybe we were hit with all three at the same time kudos to US because we are STILL STANDING to FIGHT another day!!! After All that is the point, we bounced back!

Here are a few tips to handle that setback and set you up for a bounce back:

  • Process the feelings. Don’t get stuck in a pity party. Writing my feelings down helps me to process them. O and gives me great material for blogs lol.
  • Admit it happened. NEWS FLASH we will make mistakes and we do not do everything perfectly. Don’t make excuses or pass the blame, admit it and move forward.
  • Have an action plan. With a clear head and some collaboration with others a mitigation plan can be created. The point is to keep moving forward.
  • Remember who you are. Sometimes we let doubt, fear and insecurity, etc. keep us from remembering we made it through the last setback. We must eliminate the negative thoughts and self-talk. I use affirmations to keep my mind clear, give myself grace and keep moving!

Bounce back requires us to exhibit resilience and perseverance. We are unable to achieve our goals because we give up during and after a setback. Even in the midst of a setback we can make a CHOICE to bounce back. Utilizing the tips above will move us into action. Strength comes when we move forward. YES I keep emphasizing moving forward because in the midst of a setback our first choice seems to be to quit. During this time the only thing we can quit is making bad choices. We setbacks, oppositions and hardships show up again let our confession be: We are SURVIVORS and we will BOUNCE BACK!!!!!! Remember SHARING KNOWLEDGE is POWER and KEEP Learning!

BOUNCE BACK!!!!!!!
